What I think I knew but that this experiment has born out is that I am not going to make progress on everything every week. I have too many things that I want to accomplish and not enough time to do them all. At times I will deride myself for not having done a particular thing without giving myself credit for the other things I accomplished instead. It’s clear to me that 1) right now my creative energies are going towards writing instead of game development, and that’s ok. and 2) I need some amount of down time, where I can just be a vegetable and play a video game or watch YouTube and that’s ok as well.
On to the progress… I think its been a good week! I have not touched the game dev or music since last check in, but released a new podcast episode, recorded another one and made significant strides on writing. Also starting to see the health and fitness efforts show on the scale.

Writing:
I actual wrote three different evenings this week and added around 2000 words to my book, I am now officially over 11,000 words and I know that I have never wrote anything this long. And yet, I know that I am still in the infancy of the story so I don’t know what the goal word count should be. When I started I thought it would be between 50k and 100k but that is starting to feel too short to me so I’ll just have to see.

Podcast (F’ing Up the Ineffable):
As I mentioned, we released a new episode yesterday where we revisit the topic of AI. (And we’d love it if you’d go check it out!). We also recorded a new episode on Sunday about Wealth Inequality that should be released in about 3 weeks. I created more shorts than usual for the AI podcast but none of them did very well and some had 0 views so I’m still trying to figure out how best to use the YouTube algorithm to my favor.

Weight loss / fitness:
Good stuff here this week! I didn’t binge eat any days, kept the alcohol consumption down and got all of my walks (3 x 1.2 km) and workouts completed. The stats are better and it resulted in a better readings on the scale as well. Next week I will do body measurements but it being the day after Thanksgiving and only having been a month since I did it, I am not expecting much in the way of change. I guess we’ll see because I have not really regularly measured by body before.
I realized that I never really described myself other than the numbers below so for those who don’t know me, I am a 6’0″ male, and 51 years old. When I have seen significant changes in my body I will post some before and after pics but I feel like its a way off before I feel comfortable doing that.
