Weekly Check-in 10/17/2025

Happy Friday everyone! Last day of the work week and a busy day for me because my twin 17-year olds are Seniors in HS and I am escorting them out for Senior night at the football game tonight and then I’m heading out of town tomorrow. I have had a lot going on this week including spending 3 days trying to get my finances in order so I haven’t made the progress I had hoped. On to the updates!

Game Development:

I get an F here. I haven’t really worked on the Dice Racer game this week.

Lines of C# Code: 1280 (no progress)

Classes: 32 (no progress)

Writing:

I had some time on Tuesday to do some writing, got in a groove and spent about 3 hours on it. I went back and edited and rewrote some of of what was already there and then added a couple of pages.

Current Word Count: 8,959 (+940 words from last week)

Podcast:

Brian and I met on Sunday to record an episode and had about an hour recorded when the laptop we were using to record crashed. Brian has been working to restore the audio we already recorded but we may have to start over. So, not entirely sure whether any progress was made yet or not.

And finally…

Weight loss / fitness:

I have been nursing a sore right elbow so this past weekend’s workouts did not feature rows and I was working a little below my PRs. I am taking the next two weekends off from working out and then resetting and hitting it hard again beginning on 10/31. This past week by top sets were:

Squat: 5×190

Bench Press: 5×185

Deadlift: 5×210

Seated Overhead Press: 8×135 (I had failed on 5×155 the previous three weeks so went for a highest rep/lower weight instead)

Still working on weight loss. I didn’t really track anything this week. I was just trying not to snack or overeat. I am also not exactly sure where my ultimate goal should be. BMI says like 185 but that seems too low to me. The 200-220 range I think would be much healthier than where I currently am though. In the meantime, my short term goal is to loose about 10% of my body weight which would put me at about 260lbs.

Current Weight 285.8 lbs (-4.4 lbs from last week)

PRs (all are one set of five in lbs): (no changes)
